Omaha High/Low

The difference between Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo is that in Hi/Lo, the pot is split 50-50 between the person with the best hand and the person with the worst qualifying low hand. Omaha Hi/Lo is difficult and requires skill and a little practice in order to understand.
The structure of Omaha Hi/Lo is exactly the same as that of Omaha , except the pot is split 50% to the person with the highest hand and 50% to the person with the lowest qualifying hand .
Yet the game rules are as under:

Buy-ins:
Player should buy-in a minimum amount of chips when sitting down at the table. The minimum buy-in limit is equal to ten times the lower bet limit of the game. For example in a $10-$20 table the minimum buy-in is $100 and in the $20-$40 table, the minimum buy-in is $200.

Button:
A small round disk placed on the table is known as dealer button. After each hand, the dealer button shifts to the left. Dealer button is used to indicate where the cards are to be dealt from.

Numbers of players:
The number of players in each game should be minimum 2 and maximum 10. As soon as 2 players enter the room, the game starts within few seconds Blinds

The player left to the dealer button post the small blind and the player left to the small blind post the big blinds. It is said to be blind because player have to make a compulsory bet before seeing their pocket cards. Small blind is equal to half of the minimum bet (e.g. in a $10-$20 table, small blind is $5). The big blind is the amount of the minimum bet (e.g. in a $10-$20 table, big blind is $10).

Pocket cards or Hole cards:
Each player receives four hole cards. Players must use compulsorily any “two” hole cards and “three” community cards to make their best high hand.

Betting Structure:
Normally the bet amounts are fixed at the table stakes. For example, in a $10-$20 stake, the minimum bet for the first two rounds of betting is $10 and $20 for the last two rounds. There are maximum 4+1 raises in each round of betting i.e. one bet, raise, re-raise, re-raise and a cap. In other words, the bet amount can climb maximum of 4 times in each round.

First Round of Betting:
The first round of betting takes place before the flop. The player immediately left to the big blind starts the action of the first round. The dealer is the last person to act.

Flop:
After the flop is dealt, the second round of betting begins. The player next to the dealer button starts the action (the small blind if not folded). All the subsequent rounds of betting begin with the player left to the dealer button.

Second Round of Betting:
The second round of betting takes place before the turn. The player left to the dealer button starts the action (small blind if not folded).

Turn:
After completing the second round of betting, the fourth community card known as “turn” is dealt at the center of the table.

Third Round of Betting:
Third betting round begins after the turn card is dealt. The first action is taken by the player next to the dealer button.

River:
The fifth and final card known as “river” is faced up at the center of the table.

Final Round of Betting:
After the river is dealt, the last and final round of betting begins.

Showdown:
There is a showdown after all the four rounds of betting where all the active players lay their hole cards on the table. There are two winners at the end of the hand – the best high hand and the best low qualifying hand.
If there is more than one remaining player when the final betting round is complete, the last bettor or raiser shows his or her cards. The player with the best five-card hand for high wins half the pot and the player with the best hand for low win the other half. In Omaha , players must use two and only two of their four hole cards in combination with three cards from the board. In the event of tie, the high and low shares of the pot will be equally divided between the players with the best hands. In the event that no hand qualifies for low, the best hand(s) for high hand wins the pot.
